I am now an assistant professor in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IOZ, CAS), having been doing research since 2006 when I began to pursue my PhD degree.
Most of my researches are on molecular phylogenetics and evolution. However, different from traditional researchers, I am always question-driven rather than taxa-driven. For example, my interests once focused on questions such as model selection and outgroup selection in phylogenetics, which yields some publications of high access. However, I hope myself NOT to be confined within the field of canonical phylogenetics. As the saying goes: nothing in biology makes sense except in the light of evolution, I believe that linking to functional genes or even genomes will be another milestone in phylogenetics and evolution with the mushrooming thrive in computation and sequencing technologies. Besides, evolution of functional genes guides me to the field of population genetics, because most of these researches are below the species leve
