摘要

A novel apodization technique of writing a sampled Bragg grating is presented for the first time in the paper, which uses an amplitude mask with variable duty cycle and a phase mask. This technique only needs a one-process-exposure instead of two-process-exposure to write an apodized sampled Bragg grating. The numerical simulation has been implemented and the experimental results show that this technique is efficient in reducing the side lobes in the spectrum reflection and the group delay ripples.
