摘要

Synthesis, magnetic and X-band e.s.r. spectra were reported for a homo (Cu(II)Cu(II)) and hetero (Cu(II)-Zn(II)) binuclear methyl imidazolate bridged complexes using 2,2'-bipyridyl (Bipy) as capping ligand. Antibacterial and superoxide dismutase activity of these compounds was also measured. From pH,dependent e.s.r. and electronic spectral studies, complex [(Bipy)(2)Cu-2Me-Im-Cu(Bipy)(2)](ClO4)(3)center dot CH3OH (where 2Me-Im = 2-methyl imidazolate ion) was found to be stable in pH range 8.5 to 10.5 and complex [(Bipy)(2)Cu-2Me-Im-Zn(Bipy)(2)](BF4)(3) above 8.5 pH only. All the observations indicate that these complexes act as possible model for superoxide dismutase.
