The building blocks {Co6PW9} converging lacunary polyoxometalates and high-nuclear {Co-6} clusters are furtherlinked by semi-rigid bis(triazole) ligands to construct a 2D -> 3D framework under hydrothermal conditions, [Co-6(mu(3)-OH)(3)-(H2O)(9)L(PW9O34)] (1) (L = 4,4'-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl) biphenyl).
