摘要
It is shown that the scanning of an optical cell with an aqueous suspension of carbon nanotubes along the optical axis of a focused laser beam leads to a smooth change in the duration of nanosecond laser pulses transmitted through the suspension. Pulses shorten owing to the pulse trailing edge cutoff, when the cell approaches the beam waist. In experiments, pulses of a YAG:Nd(3+) laser with passive Q-switching and duration of 16 ns were continuously controlled in the range 16-10 ns.
