摘要

Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) is the core technology to achieve seamless mobility of Next Generation Network (NGN). In MIPv6, Home Agent (HA) is the key entity to enable Mobile Node's (MN) reachability. Single HA in the home link will be the performance bottleneck, and it is hard to ensure the system service availability. In order to enhance service availability and improve system performance, it is necessary to configure multiple HAs in the home link. The major potential deployment issues of multiple HAs are fault-tolerance and load balancing. This paper proposes a Multiple HA Deployment Scheme (MHADS) comprising the fault-tolerant mechanism and the dynamic load balancing mechanism. MHADS introduces Detection & Backup Ring to realize fleet failure detection and service recovery of failed HA. MHADS utilizes single HA mirror image to achieve the transparency of fault-tolerance and load balancing to MN, which can efficiently reduce the latency and the cost.
