摘要

A thermodynamic study of the adsorption isotherms of Direct Red 155 (C.I. 25210) on mercerized cotton fibre was performed at three different temperatures: 60degrees, 86degrees and 96degreesC. The dye was synthesized and characterised by means of thin layer chromatography, electronic spectra and mass spectroscopy. The experimental data obtained from the dyeing process were fitted to the standard Nernst, Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms. Better statistical results were obtained in the case of the Langmuir model. Thermodynamic parameters were derived by regression analysis.
