摘要

The relative movements between the cutting tool and the paper stack in the ordinary and vibratory cutting processes were inspected and compared based on the kinematics analysis of each process. The prerequisite of realizing the vibratory cutting effect is that the cutting speed is smaller than cutting tool's maximum vibration velocity, which can be determined from the analysis, and the ratio of the two parameters decides the cutting time in a vibration cutting cycle. The smaller the cutting speed and the higher the vibration frequency, the smaller the cutting length will be in a vibration cutting cycle. The impulsive cutting force, which is created in the vibratory cutting process, is related to the paper shearing strength, vibration cutting cycle, cutting time as well as cutting length. The slight division effect of impulsive cutting force reduces the cutting area in a vibration cutting cycle, thus reduces the cutting resisting force, and the cutting surface quality is improved. This is why the result of vibratory cutting surpasses that of ordinary cutting.
