摘要

An approximately omnidirectional defect mode for the TE wave coming from the Bragg gap is presented in one-dimensional photonic crystals. The photonic crystals are constituted by positive-index materials with one defect layer composed of negative-index materials. Through solving the eigenfrequency equation for the defect mode of such one-dimensional photonic crystals, we find that the frequency of the defect mode is independent of the incident angle for the TE wave for a special condition. The results are demonstrated by the calculation of transmittance.
