摘要

Ailanthus altissima extracts have previously been shown to have potent anti-fungal, anti-inflammation, anti-fertility, plant-growth-regulatory and insecticidal activities. This study demonstrated the anti-viral activity of A. altissima crude extract against Rice stripe virus (RSV) in rice suspension cells, determined by inhibiting RSV crude protein transcript and expression using real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting, respectively. The A. altissima crude extract showed a strong inhibitory activity against RSV at a medium effective concentration of 0.55 mu g ml(-1). No significant cytotoxicity in rice suspension cells was shown. A. altissima crude extract would likely be a valuable antiviral agent for control of RSV.
