摘要
The title compound, C(12)H(12)N(2)S(2), was prepared from a condensation reaction of thiophene-2-carboxaldehyde with ethylenediamine in refluxing ethanol. The molecule adopts a Z-shaped conformation, with the two thiophene rings lying on either side of the Csp(3)-Csp(3) bond. The two thiophene rings form a dihedral angle of 11.2 (2)degrees. The crystal packing is mainly stabilized by van der Waals forces.
