Based on Mobile Agent technology, this paper discusses the implementation strategy for a spatial data access middleware built in grid environment. Mobile Agent can provide a suitable framework for supporting resource and service discovery in grid platforms, and can support optimal access and interaction with the user through heterogeneous terminals. This paper wishes to investigate the converging field of mobile and Grid computing. We propose a method to develop a middleware layer that allows users to access distributed resources in a transparent, secure and effective way using the mobile agent technology.
