摘要

The DNA sequence of an erythromycin resistance gene from Campylobacter jejuni ABA94 strain was determined. It encodes a single open reading frame of 203 amino acids with a calculated M(r) of 22.6 kDa. The coding region has a 35.6% G+C content, which is similar to that of the C. jejuni chromosome. Our report here on the sequence of a novel erythromycin resistance gene may cast new light on the possible evolution and genetic basis of erythromycin resistance in C. jejuni.
