摘要

A SiC erosion resistance coating was prepared on 2D carbon/carbon (C/C) composites by chemical vapor reaction (CVR). The microstructure and anti-erosion property of SiC coated C/C composites prepared from 1873 to 2173 K were investigated. It is found that the coatings were mainly composed of beta-SiC. The compactness, thickness, and adhesion strength of the SiC coating gradually increased with the increase of preparation temperature, while the coating delamination and cracking are occurred in the coating prepared at 2173 K. Erosion test results showed that, compared with the C/C composites, the SiC coating could effectively improve the erosion resistance. The erosion rate of the SiC coated C/C composites obtained at 2073 K was reduced by approximately 6.1-fold after erosion at normal angle for 50 s. The eroded surface revealed that coating cracking and delamination, fiber/matrix debonding, fiber breakage, and material removal were the erosion mechanism of SiC coated C/C composites.
