摘要

Low-power sensors and wireless networks enhance the automation of production processes, especially in the field of metallurgy and mining industry. It is able to provide security monitoring and control scheme for production processes. However, multiple battery changes are inconvenient and unavoidable if the system works in the field environment. Consequently, the question of how to obtain uninterruptible energy from environment is a key issue to be addressed. The power source formed by a standing tree and its surrounding soil is regarded as a brand-new power supply scheme for low-power electrical equipment in a country side field environment. However, its energy is weak, which has caused great difficulties in its applications. To utilize this type of micro-energy more efficiently, the characteristics of the power source must be ascertained, which requires automatic measurement devices. In this study, a measurement system based on a microcontroller MSP430F147 was designed. This measurement system has the ability to automatically measure the electromotive force and the internal resistance of the tree-source. It can provide precise data for research on the power source formed by a standing tree and its surrounding soil.
