摘要
A novel human bocavirus (HBoV), discovered in 2005 in Sweden, has now been detected in many countries worldwide. Mostly found in hospitalized children with respiratory tract infections the virus is most likely the causative agent. With only generalized symptoms related to a viral infection, the only way to specifically detect HBoV is to apply molecular detection methods. HBoV is not only detected in respiratory tract secretions, but also in urine, faeces and blood. With a recently established cell culture replication system research on HBoV can advance to a new level.
