Summary
Groundwater hardness is an important index for judging the quality of water environments. A soil-column test and correlation analysis of experiment data show that rising groundwater hardness has a direct linear relationship with the pollution by nitrate nitrogen; a soak test also shows that the trend of soak hardness declines with the lowering of nitrate nitrogen by denitrification.
