An optimum longitudinal wet fin without the "length-of-arc" assumption

摘要

This article provides the analytical solution for an optimum fin shape of minimum volume under dehumidifying conditions, where the length-of-arc assumption is eliminated and a linear relationship between humidity ratio and temperature of the saturated air is considered. The volume of the optimum circular wet fin obtained here is 9.49times smaller than the volume of Hanin and Campo's (2003) dry fin and 58.91 to 75.89times smaller than Schmidt's (1926) parabolic dry fin. The optimum wet circular fin is shorter in length and has a smaller base height than Hanin and Campo's fin. An effort is also made to analyze Schmidt's parabolic fin under dehumidification.
