DOUBLE-SIDED PRINTED FOUR RHOMBIC-LOOP ANTENNA WITH PARASITIC LOOPS FOR CIRCULAR POLARIZATION

摘要

In this letter, a double-sided printed four rhombic-loop antenna for circular polarization is proposed. By selecting a rhombus vertex angle of 60 degree this antenna offers a high gain of 12.7 dBi. Four smaller similar loops are added inside the original four loops as parasitic elements to enhance the axis ratio (AR) bandwidth from 5% to 12%. This antenna is fed by a microstrip tapered balun placed on the same substrate as the antenna for impedance matching. Simulated and measured results of the antenna are presented and show good agreement.
