摘要
We describe a new small species from the genus Spadella (Chaetognatha: Spadellidae), collected from two localities in Roscoff, France. Spadella kappae was collected during the extraction of meiofaunal animals from sediment samples, it is not clear if they live on or within the sediment. The new species differs from every other species of similar size by characters like the number and fine structure of grasping spines and the shape of the corona ciliata. Further characters are that the lateral fins are continuous with the tail fin, that intestinal diverticles are absent and that the ventral ganglion is very large.
