A copper-free efficient palladium (II)-catalyzed coupling of aryl bromides with terminal alkynes

In the absence of Cu(I), using Bu2NH as base, PdCl2(PPh3)(2) showed highly catalytic activity for cross-coupling reactions of a variety of terminal alkynes with both electron-rich (unactivated) and electron-poor aryl bromides in DMF at 60 degrees C affording internal arylated alkynes in good to excellent yields.
