摘要

Pseudo random coded signal has great potential for its use in ground penetrating radar since it has large time bandwidth product and good autocorrelation characteristics. In this article, the principle and specific implementation method of a pseudo random coded UWB GPR system is introduced. The UWB signal generation and sampling method based on digital chip largely reduce the design complexity and make the system debugging easy. Serial-to-parallel conversion technique realizes the data rate conversion from FPGA to high speed DAC. Compound sampling technique reduces the real-time sampling rate and therefore reducers the cost. Field experiment results show that pseudo random coded UWB signal can be used in GPR effectively;it can detect the targets under ground with very low power. Increasing the code length can increase the transmitted energy while keeping the resolution unchanged, therefore the detection capability can be improved.
