An abstract scene model for version control towards cooperative product design

摘要

Aiming to manage 3D models with high efficiency in distributed web environment, an abstract scene model is proposed for version control in the disposing process of cooperative design. The abstract scene model is consisted of multi-layer models which combined with operation history graph, cooperative scene and X3D models. Based on this unified multilayer scene model, some independent private branch of a cooperative scene could be constructed for different designers in a cooperative team, then conflict detection and resolution could be carried out to merge branches into a united scene. For the reason that data transmission of 3D models is decreased, an effective working manner for asynchronous non-liner design could be realized. The approach provides a dynamic version management for asynchronous cooperation, which brings out a great efficiency in web-based product design.
