摘要
Given a Noetherian and Mori ring A, we show that the seminormalization of A is exactly the subring of Pi(p is an element of SpecA) kappa(p) consisting of pointwise functions which vary algebraically along DVRs. This characterization allows easy navigation among the various definitions of the semi normalization. We discuss applications to the Chow variety (functor of algebraic cycles).
