Analysis of calculation method for foreign geosynthetic reinforced pile supported embankments

The calculation methods of geosynthetic reinforced pile supported embankments are introduced, from such three aspects as load transfer and distribution, reinforced geosynthetic tension and slope transverse slide. The different codes (handbook) of British, Japan, German and Northern Europe are adopted to calculate the reinforced geosynthetic tension respectively. The computation results applying codes indicate that the deviation of results is biggish because of the difference of hypothesis about arch effect, calculation of load between pile reinforced bedding and reinforced geosynthetic tension and so on. The problems of existing methods should be investigated systematically according to engineering cases. A reasonable design thesis and correlative calculation method suitable for our country are strongly required.
