Background: Sarcoidosis is a chronic noncaseating granulomatous disease with an unknown etiology that ca. affect multiple organs. Renal involvement in pediatric-onset adult-type sarcoidosis is rare, and only a few case have been reported. We present a case of a Chinese patient with pediatric-onset adult-type sarcoidosis with rent involvement, and a literature review was performed. @@@ Methods: The PubMed database was searched for publications, and relevant clinical data were extracted an, presented. @@@ Results: We identified 22 pediatric-onset adult-type sarcoidosis cases with renal involvement. Acute kidney in jury was the major clinical presentation. Granulomatous interstitial nephritis was the predominant histe pathological feature. All patients were treated with corticosteroids and immunosuppressive agents, and mos achieved improved outcome. @@@ Conclusions: Sarcoidosis should be considered in children with acute kidney injury of an unknown etiology. I final diagnosis is established through a combination of the clinical and laboratory characteristics, radiologica presentation, and histological features of noncaseating granulomas. A therapeutic schedule should be decides after a systemic assessment.
