A new formulation for the importance function in the kinetics of subcritical reactors

摘要

The objective of this paper is the description of a new system of point kinetic equations for the analysis of subcritical systems. To obtain this system of equations a new importance function is proposed. Apart from that, an analysis will be made for the relevance of the external source for the subcriticality interval 0.95 %26lt; k(eff) %26lt; 1, where k(eff) is the multiplication factor according to the physical properties of the nuclear reactor. For the purposes of validation of the proposed method we will use, as a reference method, the expansion in modes of the time-dependent neutron flux for the solution of the onedimensional diffusion equation. %26lt;br%26gt;It will be presented results that demonstrate the precision of the proposed method when compared to the conventional point kinetic equations. The results show that the new point kinetic equations are rather precise in the subcriticality range considered.
