摘要

The Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri is a long narrative poem written in the earliest of the XIV century (c. 1308-21). It is usually held to be one of the world's great masterpieces of literature, and is the first major work in the Italian language. Although the theme of the Divine Comedy is primarily religious, with important ethical and political implications, Dante also discusses several elements of medieval science, addressing fundamental questions and outlining the world's scientific understanding of his epoch. From the point of view of a historian of the medicine results interesting to valuate the anatomical knowledge that Dante shows to posses, as it is discussed in this article analyzing the XXVII canto of the Inferno.
