摘要

The binding energy of a bound polaron in a quasi-two-dimensional strong coupling polar material has been researched by employing a two-parameter trial wave function in the Landau-Pekar variational theory. The binding energy was obtained as a function of the width of the material as well as the position of the Coulomb impurity. It decreases quickly and approaches that of the three-dimensional structure when the well width increases. A discussion on the dimensional properties of the materials has also been given based on the electron wave function.
