A numerical simulation for laying wire rope

There isn't much literature available on the subject of predicting the complicated process of laying wire rope - particularly when the self-rotating ratio and contact: problems are taken into consideration. In this article we use the geometric and contact models, and numerical simulation, to analyse the stress and strain of forming. We also measure the axial residual stress of helical wire at the end of the laying process using the X radial.
