N '-(1-phenylethylidene)acetohydrazide

The title compound, C10H12N2O, was prepared by the reaction between hypnone and acetohydrazide. Molecules form centrosymmetric dimers through N-H center dot center dot center dot O and weak C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds. Weak interactions between the dimers and intramolecular C-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen-bond interactions stabilize the crystal packing.
