A perfluorocarbon-silicone oil oxygen-selective membrane for ambient operation of aprotic Li-air batteries

A perfluorocarbon (PFC)-silicone oil (PDMS) oxygen-selective membrane (OSM) is applied for Li-air batteries. The Li-air battery using PFC-PDMS OSM delivers excellent performance in ambient air with 68% relative humidity, comparable to the Li-O-2 battery in pure O-2. The PFC-PDMS OSM can efficiently serve Li-air batteries sufficient oxygen transport, and prevent water permeation and electrolyte solvent evaporation.
