摘要

Objective. - The purpose of this study was: (1) to determine the effect of an exercise program combined with aerobic, resistance and extension on bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal women; (2) to identify the factors associated with the change of BMD and their relative contribution in the period of exercise intervention in these women. Methods. - Thirty-six out of 45 persons in the exercise group (EG) and 36 in control group (CG) completed the study. The exercise group underwent the training regime, and women in control group kept their daily physical activity habits unchanged during the study period. BMD of the hip was measured at baseline and 12 months using DEXA. Maximum isometric strength and step test was assessed at 0, 3 and 6 months. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to evaluate which factors were independently associated with the percent changes in BMD. Results. - BMD at hip was decreased in all subjects, but the rate of bone loss was lower in exercise group than in control group. Maximum isometric strength was significantly increased in exercise group (P<0.01). Muscular strength both at baseline and follow-up were independently, and significantly associated with change in BMD at hip (P<0.01), after controlling for confounding factors.
