摘要

Land ecological suitability refers to the land-use suitability of ecological conditions for a particular area. This paper introduced the support vector machine (SVM) algorithm to assess ecological suitability for urban land use, to increase the assessment reasonableness and accuracy by solving the continuity interrupt of the evaluation data and reflecting the fuzziness of the evaluation classification levels. Two sample sets were applied to verify the accuracy and validity of the proposed ecological suitability assessment model. The results demonstrated that the ecological suitability level obtained by the SVM model was stricter than that by the traditional model, which was conducive for environment protection. Additionally, the SVM model could effectively eliminate the adverse effect caused by the long evaluation classification interval and the phase step of the two sides of the cut-off point, which improved the rationality of the assessment results for land use. The SVM model can provide sound management decisions for urban land-use planning and ensure the sustainable usage and development of land resources.
