摘要

The molecular structure and dynamics of regioregulated poly(3-butylthiophene) (P3BT) and poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) were investigated using Fourier transfer infrared spectroscopy and high-resolution solid-state C-13 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). For P3BT, a "twist glass transition", which is the glass transition of the thiophene ring twist in the crystalline state, was observed. For P3HT, on the other hand, a crystal (C)-plastic crystal (PC) transition induced by the molecular motion of the aliphatic side group was observed. The aliphatic side group motion in the crystalline state weakened the intermolecular-interactions, resulting in the blue-shift of the characteristic absorption of the interchain excition. Above the transition temperature, the thiophene twisting motion induces not only further collapsing of the intermolecular interaction but also localizing of the intrachain excition, leading to the blue-shift of both the absorption of the inter- and intrachain exciton.
