摘要

Thirteen powdered botanicals were used under green house conditions in joint treatments with four organic amendments at two different transplantation times; to assess the influential consequences of adding materials of botanical and animal origin in relation to transplanting time; on the development of the root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita infecting eggplant, Solanum melongena cv. Alabaster. Results obtained indicated that the concomitant application of botanical powders along with organic amendments as pre-transplanting treatments caused considerable reduction in the number of galls and egg-masses per plant more than in case of post-transplanting treatments. In pre-transplanting treatments that included botanicals with organic amendments, best galling reduction was obtained from treatments that included pigeon litter with neem (99.39%), rabbit droppings with chili pepper (89.03%), chicken litter with nerium (97.73%) and shrimp shells with mustard (97.10%). Plant vigor represented by shoots weight and length and root weight responded positively to most of the applied treatments in case of post-transplanting than in case of pre-transplanting treatments.
