摘要
The paper presents preleminary observations on the diatoms obtained from some artificial ponds of Allahabad. Thirty-five species were identified initially, of which biraphids (45.7%) and araphids (37.1%) were present in almost similar numbers. The monoraphids were absent while the raphidiads (17.1%) were only a few. A large number of species found here have restricted distribution. Most of the species were sensitive to trophic state and saprobity.
