We construct dense Banach subalgebras A of the null sequence algebra c(0) which are spectral-invariant but do not satisfy the D-1-condition parallel to ab parallel to(A) <= K(parallel to a parallel to(infinity)parallel to b parallel to(A)+parallel to a parallel to(A)parallel to b parallel to(infinity)) for all a, b is an element of A. The sequences in A vanish in a skewed manner with respect to an unbounded function sigma: N -> [1, infinity).
