摘要

The fusion of panchromatic (PAN) and multispectral (MS) images is one of the most promising issues in remote sensing. PAN modulation image fusion methods are usually based on ratios of images, in which atmospheric haze is seldom removed. In current PAN modulation methods, it is assumed that a ratio of the high-resolution and low-resolution versions of a MS band is equal to the ratio of the high-resolution and low-resolution versions of a PAN image. Considering the haze in images and deriving a low resolution PAN approximation from a MS component, an improvement scheme for some PAN modulation methods was proposed to better express the relevant image ratio relationships in such fusion methods. In a test on a spatially degraded IKONOS dataset, some traditional PAN modulation methods were modified and yielded synthetic products with significantly less spectral distortion.
