Measuring speed of the light emitted by an ultrarelativistic source

摘要

The velocity of the light pulse emitted by an ultrarelativistic electron bunch is directly measured. The measured velocity is within 0.3% of the standard speed of light in a vacuum. The result can be considered as the most direct experimental confirmation of the second postulate of special relativity.
