摘要

Control of the amount of deformation produced by the pressing and pressed rollers is crucial in order to optimized the quality of output of the calender. Currently in the industry, trial and error is still used to determined each dimensions of both rollers, which makes if difficults to determine the optimal design parameter values. In this study, the pressed roller of the calender was modeled as a distributed system with an infinite number of degrees of freedom. In industrial operations, the ability to suppress all the vibration modes during different operating conditions is necessary so that the design controllers can effectively control the machine to achieve its task without generating excessive vibration. The major objectives of this study was to control the pressed roller of the calender, without the need for both the pressed and pressing rollers, to enable the amount of convesity to be adjusted online, which in turn permits the leveling of the contact surface between the calender pressing roller and the calender pressed roller during processing. This study aimed to completely define the design methodology for the control of an exact infinite-dimension calender pressed roller system.
