We extend, in the context of connected noncompact semisimple Lie group, two results of Antezana, Massey, and Stojanoff: Given 0 < lambda < 1, (a) the limit points of the sequence {Delta(m)(lambda)(X)}(m is an element of N) are normal, and (b) lim(m ->infinity) parallel to Delta(m)(lambda)(X)parallel to = r(X), where parallel to X parallel to is the spectral norm and r(X) is the spectral radius of X is an element of C(nxn) and Delta(lambda)(X) is the lambda-Aluthge transform of X.
