摘要

We report an analytical study of a Duffing oscillator realized in an intensity-modulated magneto-optical trap of Rb-85 atoms under the sigma(+) - sigma(-) polarization configuration of lasers. The hysteresis curve of the atomic vibrational amplitude was calculated analytically using a simple transition line F-g = 0 -> F-e = 1 instead of a real atomic transition line for Rb-85 atoms. The dependence of the nonlinearity on various parameters, such as the saturation parameter, laser detuning, magnetic field gradient, and modulation amplitude, were investigated through the parameter space domain. The characteristics of nonlinearity in this system could be understood clearly and simply in terms of the analytical results.
