摘要
This paper proposes a novel quadruple-mode cavity resonator and filter. The cavity resonator includes four modes which are similar in frequency and easily controlled, and 20% volume saving can be achieved while maintaining the similar unloaded Q-factor value of the conventional designs. Furthermore, the electric field of the proposed modes is mainly composed of horizontal components, so the four modes can be simulated by using a pair of coupling probes, and the wide spurious-free window is realized. In final, to demonstrate the new resonator technology, a four-pole filter with 40 MHz wide filter at 2.56GHz is simulated and fabricated, and the measured S-parameter frequency response have demonstrated the significant improvement in spurious performance.
