摘要

The novel morphologies of intermetallic phases with narrow composition ranges are observed in Sn-Ni peritectic alloys after experiencing deep acid etching. Both the primary Ni3Sn2 and peritectic Ni3Sn4 phases are intermetallic compounds with narrow composition ranges, and the former one has a larger range. Although dendritic growth of primary Ni3Sn2 phases can be observed, they are shown to be composed of small faceted sub-structures. In addition, a faceted to non-faceted morphology transition of perttectic Ni3Sn4 phase which is observed at a constant growth velocity is also confirmed. These finds are helpful for growth control of intermetallic phases.
