A new low temperature one-step route to metal chalcogenide semiconductors: PbE, Bi2E3 (E = S, Se, Te)

摘要

A solvothermal reaction of metal oxalates such as PbC2O4, Bi-2(C2O4)(3) with E (E = S, Se, Te) in organic solvents at relatively low temperature (120-160 degrees C) produces crystalline PbS, PbSe, PbTe, Bi2S3, Bi2Se3, and Bi2Te3:
PbC2O4 + E (solvent) under right arrow PbE + 2CO(2)up arrow
Bi-2(C2O4)(3) + 3E (solvent) under right arrow Bi2E3 + 6CO(2) up arrow.
