The conversion of n-heptane by the chromatographic pulse method in the temperature range of 673 - 823K on the MFI zeolites modified by ion exchange with Zn (II), Ni (II) and Ag (I) was studied. The catalysts, HZSM-5 (R =, 33.9), ZnHZSM-5 (wt. % Zn, 0.69, 1.32, 1.51), Ni-HZSM-5 (wt. % Ni, 0.57, 1.09, 1.34.) and Ag-HZSM-5 (wt. % Ag, 0.95, 1.51, 1,90) having different acid strength distribution exhibit a conversion depending on temperature (except Zn-HZSM-5) and a yield of aromatics between 17.2 - 43.3% (wt). The highest selectivity for n-heptane aromatization was obtained on the catalyst modified with Zn at 723K, and on catalyst modified with Ag at 823K. The metal actions and the acidic properties of zeolites have an important effect on the aromatization of n-heptane.
