NMR crystallography
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is ideally suited for the exploration of matter at the atomic level. In the solid state, NMR interactions can now be used to determine structures that are beyond the reach of diffraction-based methods. This approach has come to be called "NMR crystallography". In this article, the use of NMR for crystallographic purposes is discussed (more precisely that of the dipolar and chemical-shift interactions), and examples taken in various fields of chemistry are given.
