摘要

A theoretical approach for the evaluation of the electrical power, using the concept of the dyadic or tensorial product as a mathematical tool, is proposed in this article. With this operation a single expression-tensor of instantaneous power-is defined, which involves the components of the power (active, reactive, distortion, and apparent), regardless of the number of phases of the power system. Additionally, the theoretical approach for the evaluation of the electrical power is related to Willems's and Watanabe's definitions. Finally, practical examples are included to validate the proposed tensor theory.
