摘要

This study presents an estimation of fine particulates under various size ranges (0.25-1, 1-1.6, 1.6-2.0 & 2.0-2.5 mu m) along with total suspended particulate matter (TSPM) in fugitive emissions emanating from firecracker bursting. Background concentration profile of fine particulates under same size groups Was also examined a day before and after at the same site. Fine particle number and TSPM substantially increased over background concentrations at firecracker bursting site and there was appreciable temporal variation driven by random firing of crackers, but concentrations were back to almost background levels the following day, showing that exposure to such particles could be short-lived.
